Tutlebot3 Waffle Pi: an affordable and extensible VSWR platform

TurtleBot3 by Robotis Is a series of open-source robotic platforms, programmable with ROS , highly efficient and effective despite its price and small size.

These mobile robots are equipped with a complete autonomous navigation system, 2 servomotors, a motion controller, and a microcontroller. TurtleBot3 Waffle Pi, the latest in the series, like its big brothers, is composed of mechanical and electronic parts that can be assembled at home. All bolts and screws are included.

TurtleBot3 Waffle, new version

The differences between the Waffle version and the Waffle Pi version may seem subtle, but they are remarkable.

While the TurtleBot3 Waffle offered an Intel® Joule™ SBC microcontroller, the TurtleBot3 Waffle Pi offers, as the name suggests, a system focused on Raspberry Pi 3 . 

This gives you the ability to connect all your compatible modules to this new platform.

Beginning with the Raspberry Pi camera module , provided here with its mounting bracket, to control the robot from afar as if you were present and record images.

The TurtleBot3 Waffle was equipped with 2 Dynamixel servos with an RS-485 connection.

With the Waffle Pi, it is now possible to use servos with TTL connection.
