TurtleBot3 is a versatile, low-cost personal robot designed to offer a fully customizable platform based on open-source software. A collaboration between Open Robotics and ROBOTIS, the project aims to make advanced technologies such as single board computers (SBCs), depth sensors, and 3D printing accessible while maintaining small size and a competitive price. With TurtleBot3, it is possible to create an autonomous robot capable of moving in different environments, seeing in 3D, and supporting innovative applications.
The TurtleBot3 Burger two-wheel differential drive platform offers maximum customization through optional components such as frames, computers, and sensors. It uses Dynamixel XL actuators, which allow precise control of speed, torque and position, and a ROS (Robot Operating System) compatible OpenCR1.0 board. This board integrates an IMU sensor, 360-degree LIDAR, and a nine-axis system, ensuring accurate management of the actuators and various Robotis sensors, including touch, infrared, and color sensors.
TurtleBot3 is perfect for makers, developers, and researchers who want to experiment and innovate in the field of robotics because of its modularity and support for the latest technologies.
