CM-530 controller description

l robotis CM-530 controller for the dynamixel servomotor.

The CM-530 controller consists of an ARM Cortex STM32F103RE microcontroller , 3-pin connectors for TTL communication, and 5-pin connectors for adding peripherals (e.g., sensors).

It is designed to control Dynamixels servo motors in the MX-xxT range (which make up the Dynamixels product line).

Humanoid robot DarwinOp Please note, MX-xxR servomotors use RS485 protocol) and AX (Bioloid kit).

It supports Bluetooth and Zigbee communications.

Connectivity of the CM-530 controller

  • PC connection Use the supplied USB cable to connect the CM-530 controller to your computer and download the code.
  • Connector for communication with peripherals Connector for communication with peripherals . Connect a ZIG-110 wireless module, infrared receiver or other modules.
  • Battery connector Battery connector . Use this connector to power your robot with a Bioloid battery (11.1V LiPO, not supplied).
  • Power connector Use this connector to power your robot directly from the mains with a power cord ( . SMPS 12V 5A not provided).
  • Power LED Indicates whether the board is powered.
  • Clear Main switch It is used to turn the CM-530 controller on and off and then to stop the robot.
  • MODE button MODE button Allows you to change the operating mode of the CM-530 controller. The three mode LEDs allow the current mode to be displayed.
    • MANAGE: Dynamixel management mode, used to test the operation of Dynamixel AX and MX servomotors. This mode is automatically activated when the controller is connected to RoboPlus Manager.
    • PROGRAM: motion modification mode, used when motions are modified by RoboPlus Motion. This mode is automatically activated when the CM-530 controller is connected to RoboPlus Motion.
    • PLAY: Task editing mode. This is the mode for downloading a new program with RoboPlus Task and running it.
  • START button This is used to start the selected mode.
  • Clear status LED The TxD LED is on when the CM-530 controller is transmitting data to the outside, RxD is on when the CM-530 controller is receiving data from the outside, and AUX is available to you; it can be turned on and off using activities.
  • U / L / D / R buttons Used as input when the program is running. They are used to send commands to the robot using the CM-530 controller.
  • 3-pin cable connector 3-pin cable connector Used to connect Dynamixel servomotors using TTL communication, such as AX or MX-xxT ranges. Servomotors can be connected in cascade.
  • Peripheral connection port (5 pins): Used to connect other components, such as sensors.
